QR Code Scavenger Hunts
Words to Know/Sight Words
- Scan the Code, Read the Word, & Write the Word
Phonics/Spelling Words
- Make a QR code with the reading of a word.
- Instead of a word hunt you could also create a recording sheet with the QR codes on them. Click here for a sample page I created. I used the website below to create the voice QR codes.
Story Response
Make a QR code that links to a story and attach it to a story response sheet. The story could be read to them or they could have to read it themselves.
You can find some already made on Pinterest and TPT. This image is one example. The image is also a link.

QR Code Reader
My first choice for use as a QR code reader is an iPod Touch. They are reliable, have internet access, and are a good size. My second favorite choice is an old iPhone. I am unsure if other brand phones would work as well. You can also use an iPad to scan codes. However, I prefer to use them for other apps and very rarely use them for QR codes. The app that I use is called i-nigma. It has been easy to use and reliable. It is also free!
